General : Gov't Expands BUDI Diesel Eligibility Transfer Facility - Pm Anwar

Individuals eligible for BUDI Diesel can now transfer the scheme's benefits to any Malaysian national receiving the BUDI95 assistance. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that eligible recipients can now transfer the scheme's benefits to any Malaysian national receiving BUDI95 benefits. Previously, benefits were only allowed to be transferred within close family members.

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, also announced that registered owners with more than one diesel vehicle can now transfer BUDI Diesel benefits to up to three vehicles. "We are a capable government. Today, we showcase our power and authority," he said with a flourish during his Independence Day address in Kuching, Sarawak.

Notable attendees included Sarawak's Yang Di Pertuan Negeri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi, Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg, and Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor. Applications for benefit transfers can be made through the BUDI Madani portal. Additionally, Anwar announced RM500 airfare assistance for new IPTA students, totaling RM500 for 7,095 beneficiaries across the country starting the September-October academic year.

This initiative covers students enrolling in public universities, polytechnics, and community colleges. "This initiative will benefit 7,095 students who need to travel between the mainland and Sabah, Sarawak, or Labuan to commence their studies," he said.
