Gender-Diverse Leadership Can Strengthen Healthcare Performance: CII CWL at Hospital Tech 2026

At the 9th CII Hospital Tech Summit, a panel discussion titled “Leading Better Healthcare: Why Gender-Diverse Leadership Matters” shed light on the benefits of greater representation of women in healthcare leadership. The session, organized by the CII Centre for Women Leadership (CII CWL), emphasized that gender diversity should not be viewed merely as a representation goal, but as a strategic priority for healthcare organizations.

Leaders participated in the discussion, sharing their real-life experiences and the interventions they implemented to create better pathways for women to advance into decision-making and leadership roles within their organizations. The panel stressed the need for healthcare institutions to move beyond mere intentions and take concrete actions to build supportive workplaces, strengthen leadership pipelines, and generate equal opportunities for women to lead and influence at all levels of the organization.

Following the discussion, the participants also agreed to continue their engagement through a Healthcare Women's Leadership Community of Practice. This platform would facilitate peer learning and the exchange of effective practices across the healthcare sector, further promoting gender diversity and inclusivity.
