FSU offensive lineman preparing at multiple spots for Alabama game

Florida State's offensive line faces challenges as they prepare for their upcoming game against Alabama. In their previous match against SMU, the Seminoles struggled to maintain consistency, leading to various adjustments. Right tackle Chimdia Nwaiwu and right guard Nate Pabst were among the players who saw changes in their roles.

Nate Pabst, who will face the Alabama Crimson Tide this Saturday, is preparing for both guard and tackle positions. He explained to Noles247 that he has been training for both positions and even took extra film sessions to understand what to do at the alternative spots. Pabst intends to play both positions, depending on the situation.

Pabst has experience with both positions, having played right tackle for Bowling Green's offensive line last season. He noted that while the run game is relatively similar between the two spots, the pass protection differs significantly. The interior three players set the depth of the pocket, while the tackles determine the width of the pocket. Pabst stressed that when transitioning from guard to tackle, the difference lies in the set and technique.

Alabama's defense is known for its toughness, having limited rushing yards to only 65 and converting just one third-down play out of 23 attempts. The Seminoles' offensive linemen must be perfectly positioned to counter this formidable defense.
