Etihad Rail station in Abu Dhabi to connect directly to airport

Plans are underway to establish a direct connection between Mohamed bin Zayed City train station in Abu Dhabi and Zayed International Airport. Etihad Airways and Etihad Rail have agreed to study opportunities to enhance connectivity between the airport and the train station. This agreement was unveiled at the Arabian Travel Market conference in Dubai.

The partnership aims to improve travel integration by offering dedicated shuttle services and exploring a range of initiatives to simplify travel and bolster Abu Dhabi's role as a gateway to the wider UAE. Etihad Airways' chief revenue and commercial officer, Arik De, stated that the agreement will explore new opportunities to link air travel with destinations across the UAE, promoting tourism growth and convenience for travelers.

Etihad Rail's chief operating officer, Azza AlSuwaidi, highlighted the country's ongoing development of an integrated national transport system that aligns with the UAE's comprehensive growth plans. Since launching passenger rail services earlier this year, Etihad Rail has been strengthening the national railway network to provide a smoother mobility experience for residents and visitors.

This partnership with Etihad Airways represents a significant step towards enhancing integration between rail and aviation, supporting tourism sector growth, economic diversification, and sustainable development across the UAE.
