Edem Senanu calls for OSP investigation into alleged astroturf procurement breaches

Anti-corruption advocate Edem Senanu has urged the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to investigate alleged breaches of procurement laws associated with the construction of multiple astroturf projects across Ghana. During a recent appearance on the Joy FM Super Morning Show, Senanu outlined three key steps he believes should be taken to address the concerns raised by these projects.

First, he called for an OSP investigation into potential procurement law violations. Senanu also emphasized the need for an investigation into possible conflicts of interest, particularly regarding Members of Parliament who hold ministerial positions and support development projects in their constituencies. Additionally, he urged the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) to strengthen its due diligence procedures by verifying whether contracts have been awarded and whether work has commenced before processing procurement documents.
