DWU volleyball clocks in at No. 12 in latest NAIA top-25 poll

Dakota Wesleyan University's women's volleyball team has slipped one place in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, dropping to No. 12. The Tigers, who are currently 12-2, had been at No. 11 just prior to this week's ranking announcement. This decline comes after a recent home match loss to then-No. 20 Morningside on Saturday, which saw the Tigers fall short.

Prior to that setback, DWU had won eight consecutive matches, extending their winning streak after a previous loss to Corban (Ore.) on August 21 in a tournament setting. The Mustangs have since rebounded with a win against Morningside. Currently ranked at No. 1 in the nation, Eastern Oregon remains at the top of the NAIA volleyball rankings with a perfect 15-0 season record.

Concordia (Neb.) and Northwestern round out the top-five, leading the GPAC conference, followed by College of Idaho in fourth and McPherson (Kan.) in fifth. Alongside these three teams, No. 15 Midland is also listed in the top 25, contributing to a total of five teams from the conference finding themselves in the high-flying ranks.

The College of Saint Mary (Neb.) and Dordt are in the receiving votes category. For the next home match, DWU will host No. 2-ranked Concordia at 3 p.m. on September 26 at the Christen Family Athletic Center. Prior to that encounter, the Tigers will face three road challenges, beginning with a game against Briar Cliff at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Following that, DWU will visit No. 3 Northwestern on Saturday, September 19 at 3 p.m. in Orange City, Iowa, concluding with a trip to Waldorf on September 23.
