Driver tests positive for four drugs after crashing into three cars in KL

A 30-year-old driver of a Honda Civic crashed into three other vehicles at a traffic-light junction in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The incident occurred on September 15, 2026, around 3:50 PM at Jalan Kampung Bandar Dalam. Police have determined that the driver lost control of his vehicle and allegedly drove recklessly, causing the crash. The three vehicles struck were a Proton Saga, a Nissan Almera, and another Honda Civic.

The driver, who is a local man, went to the police station to report the accident the following night. A breathalyzer test came back negative for alcohol, but a urine test conducted by the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division revealed he had tested positive for four types of drugs, including benzodiazepines, methamphetamine, ketamine, and amphetamine.

Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department stated that footage of the incident had gone viral on social media, prompting the department to trace all vehicles involved. The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and further investigations are ongoing.
