Documents reveal details about Denver school board antisemitic language allegations

Denver Public Schools' superintendent and school board president claim that Vice President Monica Hunter used antisemitic language when referring to a Jewish board member, according to statements they provided to Chalkbeat Colorado through a public records request. Board President Xóchitl Gaytán alleged that Hunter told Amy Klein Molk, another board member, "I'm not sitting next to that racist Zionist bitch" when she learned in December that she would be seated next to Klein Molk during meetings.

Superintendent Alex Marrero also alleged that Hunter referred to Klein Molk as a "Zionist b..." in a private conversation with him. Hunter denied these allegations in an interview with Chalkbeat, stating that she "absolutely doesn't talk like that and would never say that about her." The documents released on Tuesday provided more details about the allegations, which had previously only been described in general terms.

The board is now scheduled to discuss the matter again on Thursday, and could authorize a formal investigation or take other actions, including a potential censure vote.
