CM launches scathing attack on BRS members for their behaviour in Assembly

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy harshly criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) members for disrupting the Monsoon session of the legislative assembly. He alleged that they strategically obstructed the proceedings due to their fear of their land-related scandals and their failure to implement fee reimbursement being exposed.

The Chief Minister accused the BRS members of creating disturbances in the House, even resorting to verbal abuse towards the Speaker G. Prasad Kumar. Despite the Speaker's attempts to allow them to speak after hurling abuses at him, the BRS members remained unruly, staging a protest while insulting the Speaker. The Speaker had anticipated their apology and participation in the debate on issues affecting the public, but instead, they continued to disrupt the session, leading to their suspension.

Reddy emphasized that respecting the Speaker is a tradition for members, as the Speaker safeguards their rights in the House. He clarified that the rules currently being enforced were established by the previous government. The Speaker subsequently issued directives, preventing the BRS members from entering the assembly premises.

Reddy also dismissed BRS' claim that their leader in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, entered the Parliament wearing a black T-shirt, stating that there were no restrictions on wearing such shirts in the Lok Sabha. He mentioned that if Speaker Om Birla had ordered the prohibition of such entry, they would have complied.
