CBF event brings together heads of state refereeing commissions

On Wednesday, 27 representatives from Brazilian state refereeing commissions convened at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) headquarters to discuss referee development and national alignment. CBF president Samir Xaud emphasized the importance of state commission presidents in referee growth, noting the return of an in-person format after holding similar meetings in 2023. The event aimed to rebuild bridges, foster integration, and create a more collaborative environment for all parties involved.

President Xaud highlighted the need for continued education in Brazilian refereeing, stating that strong refereeing requires solid training. The CBF Refereeing department stressed the necessity of joint efforts to promote and develop ideas in support of Brazilian refereeing, with the ultimate goal of establishing a national refereeing guideline. This document would cover training actions, a new teaching methodology, and processes for producing new referees.

Netto Góes, CBF Refereeing Director, mentioned the department's administrative actions, such as the ombudsman process and feedback meetings with clubs, which will be shared with state commissions. They sought to ensure that state commissions understand the National Commission's line of action and the methods used to instruct PRO referees.

The "Joga Junto | Refereeing" event continued on Thursday, focusing on planning and technology. Sandro Meira Ricci, president of the Refereeing Commission, addressed the standardization of processes and the development of the Tactical Plan and Tactical VAR activity. The event concluded with a closing speech by Helder Melillo, CBF executive director.
