The Italian real estate reality show "Casa a prima vista" is expanding its team of experts with the introduction of a new series of professionals called "Il Geometra è di casa." The show is set to begin in September 2026 and run through December 2027. This addition brings the total number of experts involved in the program to thirteen, chosen nationwide. Their role extends beyond simply taking snapshots between apartment visits and verdicts.

The collaboration between Cassa Geometri, Consiglio nazionale Geometri, Geometri Laureati, Fondazione Geometri Italiani, and Real Time has been renewed and extended until the end of 2027. The program aims to not only showcase the buying, selling, renovating, and judging of properties, but also to delve into the practical aspects of real estate management. This includes building practices, building safety, energy efficiency, accessibility, condominiums, and property asset management.

"Il Geometra è di casa" is set to release 26 content pieces in the first season alone, following the "Question and Answer" format. Beginning in February 2027, "The Expert's Advice" will continue throughout the autumn season. This marks a significant shift in the program's content, as the geometrists are no longer just called upon to determine whether a wall can be taken down, but also to become a stable editorial presence throughout the show.

The reality show started with the basic desire of viewers to peek into other people's homes, but it has evolved to cover more complex issues. Buying a property means understanding what you're buying; renovating it involves navigating regulations, costs, and permits. Essentially, the real estate reality show reveals the bureaucracy. Most impressively, it even attempts to make this bureaucracy entertaining.

For the Cassa and Consiglio nazionale, the goal is clear: to use a popular program to update the image of a profession that in collective imagination still tends to be associated with planimetries, cadastral data, and municipal practices. The thirteen experts are free professionals actively involved in the territory, charged with demonstrating diverse skills and answering citizens' questions.

This is the natural evolution of a presence that has grown season after season, moving from spots, to in-depth pieces, to professionals appearing directly in front of the camera. Once the impossible measurements, definitive terraces, and kitchens that "need to be completely renovated" are shown, the geometrist's task becomes almost revolutionary for television: to explain whether this dream house, in addition to being beautiful, is also solid.
