BGF Retail opens Korea's largest convenience-store logistics hub

BGF Retail has unveiled what it claims is Korea's most extensive logistics center for convenience stores, marking a significant step in its strategy to revolutionize regional distribution and bolster international growth. The company marked the occasion with a completion ceremony on Wednesday at its new facility situated in Gurang-dong, Gangseo District, Busan. Notable attendees included BGF Group Chairman Hong Seok-jo, BGF Retail Vice Chairman Hong Jung-kook, and Busan Mayor Jeon Jae-soo.

Spanning an expansive 128,072.65 square meters, the center stands as BGF Retail's most substantial logistics venture to date. The project, which covers a sprawling 47,186.8-square-meter site, has been in the making since BGF Retail inked an investment agreement with Busan back in 2021. Construction officially commenced in 2024 and was finalized on July 14, after a construction period of around two years.

The logistics hub is poised to streamline deliveries throughout Busan and the Yeongnam region, functioning as a pivotal distribution center for CU stores. Its strategic location adjacent to Busan New Port also enhances BGF Retail's capabilities to manage import and export logistics, as it ventures into new markets.
