‘Belligerent action’: Pakistan protests Indian Navy vessel’s 'provocative' manoeuvre near PN vessel

On September 15, the Pakistani Foreign Office lodged a strong protest with the Indian High Commission, condemning an Indian Navy vessel's provocative maneuver in Pakistan's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The incident occurred during Pakistan's biennial naval exercise, SEASPARK-26, when an Indian ship executed "aggressive maneuvers" dangerously close to a Pakistani naval vessel, resulting in contact between the two.

The Pakistani ministry termed the action a "serious violation of international law" and the 1991 bilateral agreement on Advance Notice on Military Exercises, Manoeuvres and Troop Movements. They warned that the incident could escalate tensions in the region and urged India to strictly follow international law and bilateral agreements.

Pakistan's Charge d’Affaires was instructed to convey the strong rejection of the "belligerent Indian action" to New Delhi and request strict adherence to international norms. The ministry also called for the international community to urge India to avoid actions that could further destabilize South Asia, emphasizing that the region cannot remain a hostage to India's reckless pursuit of conflict and instability.
