All support acts on Ed Sheeran’s US tour quit after Macklemore dropped

All of the support acts on Ed Sheeran's US tour have abandoned the tour following Macklemore's removal for voicing pro-Palestinian sentiments. Finneas, brother of pop star Billie Eilish, Aaron Rowe, Danish band Lukas Graham, Irish folk band Beoga, and several others cited Macklemore's comments as their reason for leaving. Macklemore had called for a "free Palestine" during his appearance at Sheeran's concert in New Jersey, sparking criticism from Jewish groups.

Sheeran stated that he had engaged with promoters extensively to address the issue, but the tour organizers, Messina Touring Group, ultimately decided to drop Macklemore. Sheeran emphasized that his decision to keep politics at bay was aimed at providing a safe space for fans and musicians, rather than a stance against Macklemore's activism.

The controversy began when Macklemore performed his song Hind's Hall at one of Sheeran's concerts, featuring footage of Gaza's devastation and calling for "Free Palestine." The event led to backlash from certain audience members and online criticism, including accusations of propaganda.
