AI job postings in Korea jump 128% with growing demand for nontech roles: JobKorea

Korean job postings for artificial intelligence roles surged by 128 percent in the first half of this year, according to data from JobKorea, a recruitment platform owned by Worxphere Corp. The surge in AI-related job listings was primarily driven by non-technical fields such as planning and content creation, rather than AI development itself. JobKorea analyzed AI-related job postings uploaded up to June, out of approximately 18,000 listings containing AI-related keywords.

For experienced hires specifically categorized as AI-focused roles, there was a 140 percent increase in job postings, outpacing the 55 percent rise in entry-level postings. This indicates that the demand for AI roles is mainly concentrated on candidates who can be quickly deployed. The increase was most significant among large conglomerates, including their affiliates and subsidiaries, which saw a 187 percent rise in AI-related job postings, followed by mid-sized companies (167 percent), small and medium-sized enterprises (124 percent), and venture firms (117 percent).

The growth in AI job postings was primarily fueled by non-development AI roles, which involve applying AI to business or creative processes. These roles are increasingly being sought after, reflecting the growing demand for AI applications beyond traditional development tasks.
