L'Équipe suggests Brunner could make Klopp's Germany squad on Thursday, as the new coach will list a 40-man squad for four UEFA Nations League games within a span of ten days.

Meanwhile, German reports indicate that the most likely scenario will see Brunner included in the U21 squad. Regardless of the outcome, it will mark a significant milestone for Brunner, who has already won Euros and World Cup titles at the U17 level. Brunner's journey at AS Monaco, following his transfer from Borussia Dortmund two years ago, has been nothing short of remarkable.

After a sluggish loan spell at Cercle Brugge and limited participation in Ligue 1 during his first season, Brunner has quickly made up for lost time. This term alone, he has logged three times more minutes than in his inaugural season at Monaco.
