5 projected starters listed on Texas Tech injury report for Houston game

On September 15, Texas Tech football's initial availability report for their upcoming game against Houston was released. Among the five projected starters listed were four players who are considered starters and two who are on each side of the ball. Among the questionable players for Texas Tech were safety Brenden Jordan, tight end Terrance Carter Jr., outside linebacker Trey White, and receiver Kenny Johnson.

Brenden Jordan is expected to return after serving a two-game suspension for violating team rules, while Terrance Carter Jr. missed the Oregon State game, Trey White has yet to play this season, and Kenny Johnson spoke to the media on Tuesday. Cornerbacks Amier Boyd and Ashton Hampton, as well as offensive lineman Elias Gillen, were listed as out for the game.

Boyd was replaced by Davin Martin as one of the starting cornerbacks on Tech's depth chart after having an interception against the Beavers. For Houston, cornerbacks Mudassir Abdullah and Myles Rowser, linebacker Bryson Castle, wide receivers Stephon Johnson and Jeffrey Strozler Jr., and defensive linemen Quindario Lee were listed as out. The Houston team's probable starters included defensive backs JD Rhym and Ejiro Egodogbare.
