23-year-old Bengaluru woman dies after collapsing in shower at Hassan lodge

A 23-year-old woman named Varsha from Bengaluru died after collapsing while showering at a lodge in Hassan district, Karnataka, according to police. She had traveled to the area with two friends, Raghu and Darshan, on September 11. Varsha's relatives identified her as a resident of Chikkabanavara. The police suspect that she may have inhaled toxic fumes from the gas geyser, though they are awaiting the postmortem report to confirm the exact cause of death.

After collapsing in the shower, Varsha was taken to the hospital by her friends, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival. The lodge, Sri Devu Lodge in Valalhalli-Kudige near Sakleshpur, was inspected by the police to determine if the geyser or gas inhalation played a role in her demise. No visible injuries or bruise marks were found on Varsha's body, and the police have ruled out sexual assault.

The lodge management and the two men who accompanied Varsha were questioned by the police. Varsha's parents have filed a complaint, and the investigation into her death is ongoing. The postmortem examination has been completed.
