He stated that September 16th is a pledge that must always be updated to ensure no region is considered peripheral or marginal, no community feels isolated, and no citizen is left behind in the progress of the nation. However, Anwar acknowledged that there are times when the nation's journey takes a detour, when concerns about certain groups arise, when regional gaps widen, and when differences are seen as walls and barriers.

"The ocean can separate us, but not the aspirations and hopes of the nation. Happy Malaysia Day!" he concluded via a Facebook post accompanying the country's Malaysia Day celebrations today.
