Zelensky plans 'difficult' measures to cut budget deficit

Some of the necessary measures may be tough or unpopular, but they are vital for Ukraine to meet its defense and resilience needs. The President reminded that Ukraine transcends any single party, interest, or public relations strategy.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to lawmakers who supported the decisions today and noted that upcoming votes this week could secure billions in funding from international partners. The President called on every citizen to contribute equally to Ukraine's cause.

The three additional bills, part of the package to secure international financing, were approved and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada by the Cabinet of Ministers, according to Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi. The proposed laws pertain to the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, Ukrzaliznytsia, and the High Qualification Commission of Judges. Koretskyi instructed ministers to expedite the bills' consideration at the committee level.
