Zankore Lands Up to $3.1B for Indonesia AI Buildout as Regional 1 GW Target Takes Shape

Zankore secured up to $3.1 billion for Nvidia-powered AI infrastructure, initiating deployment in Indonesia and expanding across Southeast Asia. The company signed a senior term loan facility on Sept. 9 to support the construction of Nvidia GPU infrastructure for its AI cloud platform. Zankore plans to reach approximately 200 MW of AI infrastructure by the first half of 2027, with a longer-term target of up to 1 GW of Nvidia AI computing capacity across its Southeast Asian platform.

The debt financing was provided by Citi, ING, Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking, Qatar National Bank, and UOB, which served as senior mandated lead arrangers, underwriters, and bookrunners. Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison launched Zankore in collaboration with Ooredoo Group, Nvidia, and Nokia, with the latter two serving as technology partners.

The rollout of 200 MW will begin in Indonesia, but the full 1 GW target may be distributed across the region. The platform aims to serve enterprises, startups, developers, and institutions in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, supporting AI training and inference workloads. Proceeds from the debt facility will be used for the acquisition and deployment of Nvidia GPU infrastructure.

The collaboration includes a revenue-sharing and credit-support model, but specific contract details, such as anchor customers, utilization, pricing, and loan terms, remain undisclosed. The deployment of substantial accelerated-computing capacity in Indonesia could reduce the country's reliance on compute hosted in neighboring markets and provide another regional option for enterprises.

Large AI clusters require significant data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and specialized operations talent, which could shape AI data center development across APAC. Indonesia could gain more regional AI infrastructure investment, currently concentrated in established hubs like Singapore.
