‘Why didn’t you stop after hitting me’: Woman questions Gurugram hit & run accused’s defence

A day after a viral video showed a car colliding with Sia's motorcycle on Gurugram's Golf Course Road, the biker has disputed the driver's claim that the collision was accidental. In an Instagram video statement posted on September 14, Sia questioned why the driver didn't stop to check on her injuries after the crash. She posted footage from her own camera that she claimed proved the driver deliberately hit her and fled the scene.

The driver, Kalyan Baisla, denies any intention to harm Sia, claiming she suddenly turned while he was taking a U-turn and he was left with no time to react. Sia countered that she had two independent video recordings, including one from her motorcycle-mounted camera showing the driver switching lanes and hitting her before the car violently collided with her bike.

She also questioned the driver's assertion that he was unaware she was a woman, as he saw her long hair from behind and asked her to stop. Sia has called the incident a hit-and-run and criticized the police response, alleging the driver hasn't been arrested despite his registration number being in her original post. She criticized what she saw as an uneven law enforcement focus on bikers, questioning why traffic enforcement targets riders while motorists accused of dangerous driving face no consequences.
