Western North NPP targets more parliamentary seats in 2028

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western North Region has set its sights on expanding its parliamentary representation in the upcoming 2028 general elections. Presently, the party holds just one of the nine parliamentary seats in the region, while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) maintains control over the remaining eight.

Located in the Suaman Constituency, the NPP's sole parliamentary seat creates a considerable hurdle for the party as it aims to make headway in the Western North Region ahead of the 2028 elections.

However, optimism prevails within the party as the new batch of regional executives, spearheaded by Regional Chairman Pious Vincent Abekah, expresses confidence in turning the party's fortunes around. At a thanksgiving service organized by the party at the Sefwi Asawinso Methodist Church, Regional Secretary Felix Foster Ackah emphasized that strengthening the party at the grassroots level and uniting its members are top priorities as the party prepares for the next elections.

Ackah urged party supporters and executives across the region to put aside their differences, enhance collaboration, and work towards a unified electoral objective.

In his words, Felix Foster Ackah believes that a cohesive and revitalized party structure holds the key to regaining the NPP's voters' confidence and increasing its representation across the various constituencies in the Western North Region.
