Vivek Dahiya recalls cleaning tables in UK bar, delivering pizza in his BMW

Renowned actor Vivek Dahiya, recognized for his roles in shows like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, recounted his humble beginnings in a recent interview. The actor, who migrated to the UK for higher education, shared how he supported himself through various odd jobs.

Dahiya detailed his early experiences working at a bar and a factory, and revealed that he once delivered pizzas for a popular chain using his BMW. During the interview with Filmygyan, he stated, "I was a student in the UK. I was 18 years old and I wanted to earn and be self sufficient, to not be dependent on my father."

He explained how he sought employment by handing out CV printouts in the city center, often fabricating experience to secure jobs. At one point, he was made to clean tables at a bar, accidentally spraying a customer's leg. The customer's boyfriend confronted him, leading to his dismissal.

In another job, he mentioned cleaning garbage bins and picking up broken glass, which led to back pain. His dissatisfaction with these jobs prompted him and a friend to quit. Dahiya also worked in a toilet paper factory, an LG TV factory, and in call centers.

Delving into his choice of a BMW for pizza deliveries, he commented, "I had a BMW and I used to deliver pizzas in that car. The customers used to be shocked that I came to deliver pizzas in a BMW. I was fascinated with cars. When you do odd jobs abroad, you can easily save enough money to buy a second hand BMW, maybe a 15-year old car. That’s exactly what my strategy was."
