Trapped at 16,500 feet: Men cut through ice, save bear cub with mother watching

On an altitude of 16,500 feet, a group of men embarked on a remarkable rescue mission to save a bear cub that had become trapped in a deep crevasse. A video of the incident, which quickly gained millions of views on social media, documented the courageous efforts of the rescuers. As shared by Instagram account Nature lovers (@safar_he_manzil_hai), the cub's mother, named Bhalu, had prevented the men from approaching their son.

The most challenging aspect of the rescue was the narrow opening in the ice, which obstructed their progress. Using ice axes, the men gradually widened the passage until a rescuer managed to secure the cub with a rope tied around its hand. The team then worked together to pull the animal upwards while simultaneously breaking more ice to widen the opening.

Despite the dangerous terrain and high altitude, the rescuers persevered with courage, patience, and determination. Upon being lifted out, the cub was observed limping, indicating that it may have been injured prior to the rescue. Social media users commended the rescuers for their bravery and dedication, acknowledging the successful mission as a testament to teamwork, discipline, and compassion.
