Thunderstorms, hail and strong winds forecast for several Saudi regions Tuesday

The National Center of Meteorology is predicting severe weather conditions, including heavy thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds, for several regions in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. In its weather report, the center warned of continued moderate to heavy thunderstorms that could lead to flash flooding in locations such as Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah.

There is also a possibility of rain-bearing thunderclouds forming over parts of Najran. In addition to the heavy precipitation, the center anticipates strong surface winds that will stir up dust and sand in these areas, as well as in the northern parts of the Eastern Province and certain parts of Tabuk and Riyadh.

Fog may develop overnight and in the early morning hours along the coastal regions of the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea. The forecasted wind speeds are expected to vary, reaching up to over 50 km/h in thunderclouds. Wave heights are projected to range from half a meter to one and a half meters, with heights exceeding two meters during thunderstorms. Sea conditions will be light to moderate, but rougher during thunderstorms.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will shift from southwesterly to southeasterly at 10–25 km/h, and then to southeasterly to northeasterly at the same speed range. Waves in this region will be approximately half a meter to one meter in height, with generally calm sea conditions.
