Laptop prices have risen significantly in 2026 due to increased demand for RAM and SSD storage chips (RAMageddon) and potential new tariffs on semiconductors. Major PC manufacturers like Apple, Dell, Lenovo, and Acer have been affected by these price increases. The situation is further complicated by Microsoft raising Windows 11 licensing fees and recent pricing and availability changes for certain models.
