Special Relaxation Of 3 Years In Maximum Age Limit To Increase Opportunities

Lucknow: In a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday, the Yogi government announced a significant move to expand employment opportunities for former Agniveers. The decision includes a 20 percent horizontal reservation for these individuals who have served in direct recruitment for the positions of Jail Warder and Enforcement Constable within the Transport Department. The primary aim is to integrate these veterans into the state's security apparatus.

Furthermore, former Agniveers will benefit from a special relaxation of three years in the maximum age limit for these specific roles. Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna revealed that this 20 percent horizontal reservation will apply to direct recruitment for Jail Warder positions in the Prison Administration and Reform Services and Enforcement Constable roles in the Transport Department.

Former Agniveers will be categorized based on their social affiliation, and they will be eligible for the reservation within their respective categories.

Those who have completed four years of military service will receive a 3-year age relaxation, calculated by deducting their 4-year service period during the age determination process. This adjustment is intended to enable a larger number of former Agniveers to compete in the recruitment process. In the state's prison system, former Agniveers' military training, discipline, skills, and security experience will be invaluable in enhancing prison administration and bolstering security measures for inmates.
