Snapyo — free TikTok, Reels & YouTube Shorts downloader (video + MP3), built in 2 days

Every TikTok downloader is either covered in ads, forces sketchy apps, or bait-and-switches with "premium." So I built my own. Snapyo — paste a link, get the file. That's it. What's inside: TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts Video (MP4) or audio (MP3) iOS with native download banner Android and desktop No sign-up, no app, no ads Built solo in a couple of days with Claude Code + Cursor, then…

Snapyo is a free downloader for videos from TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, as well as audio from TikTok and YouTube Shorts. It was created in just two days, with no ads, sign-up process, or premium features. The tool can be accessed via a website (https://snapyo.app) and supports download on iOS, Android, and desktop devices.

It was built using Claude Code and Cursor, and then refined to address issues such as iOS Safari download quirks, CDN redirects, and YouTube bot detection. Snapyo's creator also wrote 17 blog posts detailing the intricacies of video and audio downloading, including topics like watermarks, video quality, MP3 extraction, and platform-specific save methods.

Since its launch, Snapyo has attracted around 50 organic users per day, with no monetization plans in place as of now.
