Security operatives arrest three suspected kidnappers, rescue victims in Edo

In Edo State, a combined team of Edo State Police Command operatives, local hunters, and other security agencies have apprehended three suspected kidnappers. The group also successfully rescued three kidnapped victims, with one individual still being held captive. The Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Eno Ikoedem, disclosed this information to journalists in Benin City.

According to her, the victims were abducted by gunmen in Ekpoma town, located in Esan West Local Government Area, and taken to Illeh forest. Ikoedem provided the names of the rescued victims as Olaefe Ehimen, Taiye Ibrahim, and Mrs Ehimen. She revealed that the kidnappers had already contacted the victims' families to demand a ransom prior to their rescue.

The police received a distress call regarding the kidnapping incident and, in collaboration with local hunters and other security agencies, conducted bush combing operations in Illeh forest to rescue the victims. The operation also resulted in the arrest of the three suspects linked to the kidnapping. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the remaining members of the syndicate.
