Sachin Pilot’s first Punjab test: Channi, Warring bury hatchet — for now — to take on AAP

Punjab Congress leaders Charanjit Singh Channi and Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, once bitter political adversaries, temporarily put aside their differences to support newly appointed party in-charge Sachin Pilot at a protest rally in Chandigarh. The event, aimed at pressuring the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, showcased Pilot's ability to unite the factions ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

After a handshake with smiles, the two leaders continued to criticize the Bhagwant Mann government in their speeches, accusing it of corruption, mistreatment of Dalits, and failure to address farmers' and government employees' grievances. Pilot emphasized that the government could not suppress Congress workers using police force, citing the recent death of Dalit labourer Gulzar Singh and alleging corruption in the case.
