Russia has damaged 16 Kyiv gas stations in 2026; city sees no fuel shortage

Russian jet-powered drones launched attacks on Kyiv overnight into September 15 and continued into the morning. The strikes targeted gas stations in Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts, warehouses in the Obolonskyi district, and nonresidential buildings in the Solomianskyi district. The damage to the gas stations was severe, affecting buildings and equipment. The incident occurred twice, with one gas station struck again by Russian drones, as reported by Ukrnafta.

Ukrnafta CEO Bohdan Kukura affirmed that Russian drones struck two of the company's gas station complexes on September 15, with one station on Kyiv's right bank and the other on the left bank. He described the attacks as "deliberate strikes on civilian facilities providing fuel and essential goods," emphasizing that such actions lack military purpose and constitute terror against civilians. Ukrnafta pledged to restore the damaged facilities and continue serving its customers.

On September 10, a Russian drone attacked a Ukrnafta gas station in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, causing a fire and injuring four people. On September 11, Russian drones targeted Ukrnafta gas stations in two Kyiv districts, further highlighting the ongoing aggression against the city's fuel infrastructure.
