Ramp launches in UK, trumpets AI token spend platform

Ramp, an expense management startup based in New York, has entered the UK market with a new AI token spend platform, aiming to attract more startup clients. This marks Ramp's first expansion outside North America and follows its acquisition of Swedish payment infrastructure firm Billhop, which grants Ramp regulatory authorization in both the UK and EU.

Ramp's all-in-one solution encompasses payments, corporate cards, vendor management, procurement, travel booking, and automated bookkeeping. The company, which has offices in London and Sweden, previously expanded to Canada. With a team in London, Ramp is targeting fast-growing companies in Europe, including startups, and has a customer base exceeding 70,000, comprising notable clients like Visa, Uber, Spotify, Anduril, and Figma.

Jacob Wallenberg, VP of International Expansion at Ramp, expressed confidence in the UK market, stating that the UK is home to some of the fastest-growing companies in Europe. Ramp's AI token spend platform aims to address the complexities of AI spending, which has grown around 21 times since June 2025. The platform enables finance departments to break down costs by models and teams, making it easier to evaluate AI spending.

Ramp is also collaborating with Visa to support its corporate card offering for UK businesses, integrating Ramp's spend management platform with Visa's global payments network.
