Plane ceiling collapses mid-flight: Are recent incidents making flying less safe?

A Boeing 737 operated by Sepehran Airlines was en route from Mashhad to Kermanshah, Iran, when part of the cabin ceiling collapsed mid-flight, causing widespread panic among passengers. The aircraft was forced to return to Mashhad, where it landed safely, with no injuries reported. This incident follows a series of other alarming aviation incidents, including smoke-filled cabins, a passenger being pulled towards a shattered window, and smoke and fumes affecting multiple flights.

Despite these concerning events, aviation safety experts assert that there is no evidence of a general decline in airline safety. In fact, global safety figures indicate that commercial airliner accidents actually decreased compared to the previous year, with millions of safe flights occurring each month. Passengers are advised to keep their seatbelts fastened whenever seated to minimize injury risks during turbulence or other emergencies.
