The prosecution's witness, Amer Hamzah Arshad, has apologized to former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's lawyer, Amer Hamzah Arshad, at the High Court for filing a police report against him. Mazery Zaini, a 42-year-old SPRM officer, submitted the report after Amer presented documents yesterday that included a transcript of a conversation with former Bersatu Segambut deputy leader Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad, whom Mazery accused of creating a difficult document.

When apologizing to Amer and the defense, Mazery informed the court that he filed the report due to concerns that the relevant document might be leaked by a SPRM officer. "We do not want important documents to be leaked indiscriminately," Mazery said. "I did not intend to tarnish the image of the enforcement agency. What I did was to protect the image of my department."

However, Amer claimed that the filing of the report was an attempt to tarnish his reputation and intimidate him. "Submitting this report and mentioning my name are attempts to tarnish my reputation and provide false information that the report or document has nothing to do with the Muhyiddin case, which is an attempt to mislead the public and authorities, as well as a form of intimidation," Amer said.

Amer stated that the defense obtained the document from the agency representing Adam Radlan and that it is impossible to use an unofficial channel to obtain it. Assistant Prosecutor Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin clarified to Chief Justice Noor Ruwena Nurdin that the police report would be withdrawn today after the court hears explanations from both parties. The prosecution will continue the re-examination of Mazery after this.
