In a recent discussion, Tracy McGrady expressed his belief that the regular season MVP carries more significance than an NBA championship. Former Cleveland Cavaliers player Iman Shumpert, who won an NBA title in 2016, disagreed with this assessment. Shumpert, who played alongside Andre Iguodala during the 2015 NBA Finals, argued that Iguodala's 2015 Finals MVP award holds greater weight than any regular season honor.

Shumpert explained that Iguodala came off the bench for most of the regular season but was elevated to a starter during the crucial Finals series. Playing alongside Steph Curry and Draymond Green, Iguodala made key plays and provided stellar defense to help the Warriors come back from a 2-1 deficit and secure the championship. Shumpert highlighted Iguodala's impact, stating that his MVP award would be remembered more than James Harden's regular season accolade.

Gilbert Arenas countered Shumpert's argument by mentioning the Top 75 list, which included Dame, but he too acknowledged Iguodala's exceptional performance. Iguodala averaged 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game during the Finals, showcasing his ability to adapt and elevate his game when it mattered most.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr praised Iguodala's performance, jokingly saying he would depart the bench next year.
