Oti Regional Minister applauds doctor for accepting posting to Dambai

Oti Regional Minister John Kwadwo Gyapong has lauded Dr Cecelia Adu Gyamfi, a medical doctor, for accepting a position at the newly established Evangelical Church of Ghana Hospital in Dambai. This commendation followed remarks made by Kpandai Evangelical Church of Ghana Hospital's Medical Superintendent, Dr Sonlaar Joseph, during the facility's commissioning.

Dr Sonlaar Joseph praised Dr Adu Gyamfi's decision to serve in Dambai, a developing area, despite challenges such as distance from major cities like Accra and Kumasi, accommodation issues, and the lack of amenities typically available to medical professionals in urban areas. The minister's recognition of Dr Adu Gyamfi's commitment to the healthcare profession and her willingness to serve underserved communities highlights the importance of healthcare workers in remote areas.

In response to Dr Sonlaar Joseph's remarks, Gyapong pledged the full support of the Oti Regional Coordinating Council as Dr Adu Gyamfi begins her work at the new hospital. He emphasized the critical role that health professionals play in improving healthcare delivery across the Oti Region. Additionally, Krachi East MP Nelson Kofi Djabab commended the Evangelical Church of Ghana for establishing the hospital in Dambai.

He emphasized that the facility will significantly improve healthcare access for Dambai residents and surrounding communities, and pledged support to the hospital to ensure its effective operation.
