First Lady Oluremi Tinubu commissioned an ICT Experience Centre at Kwara State University, Malete, as part of the Federal Government's initiative to expand digital skills development to 15 additional tertiary institutions nationwide. The programme, funded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund and the Renewed Hope Initiative, aims to strengthen digital skills, innovation, and technology-based learning in Nigerian universities.
Tinubu, represented by the wife of the Vice President, emphasized the importance of equipping Nigerian youths with knowledge and skills to thrive in a technology-driven global economy. KWASU's new facility features ICT laboratories, interactive digital displays, conference facilities, and exhibition spaces to support learning, creativity, and research.
The centre was one of six selected for the pilot phase of the programme, with each institution representing a different geopolitical zone in Nigeria.
