NFL insider Ian Rapoport has provided an update on Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold's potential return after suffering a hip injury during the opening game against the New England Patriots. Initially, there were concerns about a severe fracture, but it has since been confirmed that Darnold is dealing with a soft tissue injury in his glute. The Seahawks have ruled out the possibility of Darnold going on injured reserve, suggesting he could be back within the next four games.

Darnold played only five snaps before being ruled out for the match against the Patriots. Drew Lock took over the quarterback position and led the Seahawks to a 13-10 victory. Rapoport expressed optimism about Darnold's return, stating that the Commanders' game in week 3 is 17 days away, and there is a possibility that Darnold could play in that game. He suggests that Darnold might miss only one or two games, which would be a favorable outcome.
