‘Not looking to be in spotlight’: Vedaant Madhavan ahead of Asian Games

Bollywood actor R Madhavan's son, Vedaant Madhavan, is focusing on his swimming career as he prepares to represent India at the upcoming Asian Games in Japan, starting September 19. The 21-year-old swimmer, who is part of the 12-member Indian swimming squad, is determined to excel in the pool and represent his country on the international stage.

Despite the attention surrounding his famous surname, Vedaant insists that he is not seeking the spotlight. He maintains that if you perform well, you'll be in the spotlight, regardless of who you are. Vedaant has adopted an ambitious mindset ahead of the competition, believing that if you aim for the stars, you'll end up on the moon.

He acknowledges the pressure that comes with representing India, especially for a country with a population of nearly 1 billion, but says his training has taught him to keep external pressure out of his performance. Vedaant emphasizes the importance of a strong team dynamic, comparing the Indian swimming contingent to a group of brothers.

He believes that the challenges faced during training have ultimately brought the team closer together, leading to high morale and optimism as they head to Japan to "kill it."
