‘Morning Joe’ Slams Trump’s Aggressive Pro-AI Stance: ‘The Worst Take Ever’

On Tuesday, the hosts of MSNOW’s “Morning Joe” criticized President Trump for his increasingly aggressive pro-Artificial Intelligence (AI) stance, deeming it "the worst take ever." During a Monday speech, Trump stated that AI is "bigger than the Internet" and that whoever wins the AI race, wins. He further claimed that data centers built to support AI have saved dying communities and made them wealthy.

Joe Scarborough, a co-host of “Morning Joe,” vehemently disagreed with this notion. He questioned Trump's statement made on a podcast, in which he said, "we can't let this kind of stuff happen" concerning the rapid development of AI. Scarborough argued that Trump was likely referring to a careful pacing of AI advancement rather than the end of humanity, but noted that the response from some Washington politicians was "idiotic."

He continued to criticize Trump and his administration for their opposition to any concerns about the dangers of rapid AI development, including biohazards, shutdown of financial sectors, and electrical grids. Scarborough pointed out that the American people are more aware of these issues than politicians and Republican leaders.

He emphasized that while AI has great potential, it also poses significant risks, and what is needed is a mature, bipartisan approach to address these concerns. Scarborough concluded by calling Trump's stance "the worst take ever," not only for safety reasons but also for the Republican party's political prospects in the near future.
