Mets announce 2026 Arizona Fall League attendees

The New York Mets have announced the players who will participate in the 2026 Arizona Fall League. This league, owned and operated by Major League Baseball, features six teams that are rostered by minor league players from all 30 affiliated MLB clubs. The Arizona Fall League serves as an opportunity for players to gain more at-bats, accrue more innings, evaluate changes in their performance, and showcase their abilities to scouts and executives.

For the Mets, three infielders - Bruin Agbayani, Boston Baro, and Cole Mathis, and five pitchers - Irving Cota, Brendan Girton, Ryan Lambert, Peyton Prescott, and Calvin Ziegler, will be part of the Surprise Saguaros team. Agbayani, acquired from the Minnesota Twins, spent most of the season injured and appeared in only 13 games.

Baro, the team's 25th top prospect, had a challenging season with multiple injuries and played in just 11 games. Mathis, acquired from the Chicago Cubs, only played 7 games for the Mets and 21 games in total.

Cota, a right-hander, had his season disrupted early on, appearing in 8 games between the Brooklyn Cyclones and Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Prescott, drafted in the 5th round of the 2025 MLB Draft, played just once due to surgery and appeared in 12 games overall. Ziegler, a top prospect, lost much of his value after Tommy John surgery in 2024 and played in 12 games.

Lambert, ranked 19th on the 2026 Amazin’ Avenue Top 25 Prospects List, dealt with minor injuries but posted a 7.61 ERA in 23.2 innings. Girton, who appeared in 33 games and made 15 starts, posted a 6.72 ERA in 83.0 innings.
