Manoj Jarange Patil Heads Towards Mumbai Amid Ganeshotsav; Police Deny Permission Twice, Concerns Over Law And Order

Mumbai is currently celebrating Ganeshotsav, a festival where Manoj Jarange Patil, a Maratha reservation activist, plans to lead a protest demanding reservation for his community. However, the Mumbai Police have refused to grant permission for this rally twice, citing concerns over potential law and order issues and the heavy crowds expected during the festival.

Last year, a massive march by members of the Maratha community resulted in significant traffic congestion across the city, causing considerable inconvenience to commuters. Authorities are concerned that a similar disruption could occur this year, given the large number of devotees visiting public Ganesh mandals and preparations for immersion processions.

A senior police officer stated that managing the crowds could become extremely challenging if a large protest led by Jarange Patil enters the city during the festival. Despite the police's stance, Patil remains committed to his protest, raising questions about potential inconvenience for Mumbaikars during the festival and possible further actions by the police administration.
