Man buys 10 camels, takes delivery and refuses to pay Dh600,000

In Al Ain, a court has ruled that a man must pay Dh600,000 to a seller after purchasing ten camels and taking possession without settling the debt. The Al Ain Civil, Commercial and Administrative Claims Court ordered the buyer to fulfill the payment, including court fees and expenses. The judgment was based on the defendant's acknowledgment of the debt, supported by WhatsApp messages where he recognized the amount owed and promised to pay it.

The case was initiated by the seller who claimed the buyer received the camels but failed to pay despite multiple requests. The seller presented WhatsApp conversations between the two parties as evidence, showing the defendant's assurance of payment. The defendant admitted the debt in court but claimed he was currently unable to pay.

However, the court deemed the admission binding, as it acknowledged a legal obligation before a court, either directly or through remote communication technology. The court found the defendant had no reason to claim the debt was paid, and thus, ordered him to pay the full Dh600,000, along with legal fees and expenses.
