Linda Mwananchi leaders now prioritise individual interests ahead of 2027 elections

The National Police Service (NPS) in Kenya has commended the Linda Mwananchi movement for the peaceful conduct of their Jacaranda rally, urging political leaders to set a similar standard for future political gatherings ahead of the 2027 General Election. The NPS stated that the rally held at Jacaranda Grounds in Embakasi, Nairobi, on Sunday was characterized by mutual respect and restraint among organizers, supporters, and security officers.

The event was described as "a blueprint for future political conduct," demonstrating that Kenyans can exercise their constitutional freedoms peacefully and within the law. The police acknowledged the public's cooperation and adherence to protocols during the rally, expressing gratitude for their maturity. The rally marked the end of a day-long mobilization tour by the Linda Mwananchi movement, led by Senator Edwin Sifuna, which included visits to various parts of Nairobi such as Marikiti, Gikomba, Burma markets, and Jogoo Road.

The NPS emphasized that this rally should not be considered an isolated incident and urged political leaders, supporters, and stakeholders to maintain the same level of discipline in future political engagements.
