Landon Dickerson: I was a complete liability; I should not be out there until healthy

The Philadelphia Eagles have placed left guard Landon Dickerson on injured reserve due to a knee injury, according to news reports. Dickerson spoke candidly on the WIP's Players Lounge Show about his current situation. He described himself as a "complete liability" during last Sunday's 24-22 victory over the Washington Commanders.

Dickerson attributed his subpar performance to his knee issue, which he characterized as a "bone bruise" in his right knee. He admitted that he should have waited to return until he felt completely healthy, acknowledging that his early return was his own fault. Earlier in the preseason, Dickerson suffered another injury in practice, which he thought would improve over time.

However, imaging later confirmed the severity of his injury. Dickerson stated that the best course of action is to place him on injured reserve, allowing him to recover fully and have a strong finish to the season, rather than risking another subpar performance like the one last year. In August 2025, Dickerson underwent surgery to repair an injured meniscus.

Despite his return to action, he later admitted that he needed more rehabilitation time. This offseason, Dickerson sought stem cell therapy in Columbia. As a replacement, the Eagles could turn to Drew Kendall, a fifth-round pick from 2025.
