Israeli airstrikes on a village in southern Lebanon kill 12 people, including 2 children

On September 15, Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza resulted in the deaths of at least three Palestinians, according to medics. One victim was a patient at a healthcare center, while another was a child killed when Israeli airstrikes hit a vehicle in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. A second strike near a group of people attempting to help the initial victims led to additional casualties.

A video purportedly showed a missile exploding near five men. In a separate incident, a patient at a health center supported by British charity Medical Aid for Palestinians was killed by an Israeli military quadcopter drone. Palestinian authorities held funerals for two individuals killed in the previous day's strikes, including a local Hamas commander.

Israeli military officials claimed to have killed both men, referring to one as a Hamas commander. Relatives and friends honored the deceased Hamas militant with a white shroud and a green Hamas flag at Gaza City's Al Shifa Hospital. Despite an October 2025 U.S.-backed ceasefire, Israeli strikes continue, and no progress has been made towards permanent peace.

Hamas accuses Israel of violating the ceasefire, while Israel claims Hamas has breached the agreement. Over 1,300 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed since the ceasefire went into effect, while the Israeli military reports four soldiers have been killed. Hamas typically does not disclose information about casualties among its fighters.
