iOS 27 gives Camera app on iPhone three powerful new features

The iPhone's Camera app received significant upgrades in iOS 27, particularly for AI-compatible models and the iPhone 18 Pro. A new "Siri" mode was introduced, which brings visual intelligence features typically found in Camera Control into the main Camera app. This mode offers unique capabilities, such as capturing and taking action on objects the iPhone recognizes.

For instance, users can take a photo of text in another language for quick translation, capture an event flyer to add details to their calendar, or get care instructions for a plant, nutritional information for food, and more.

Apple also made the controls within each Camera app mode fully customizable in iOS 27. Users can access the controls panel by tapping the icon with six dots in the bottom-right corner of the screen. A new 'Edit' button appears in the top-left corner when viewing the controls panel. Tapping 'Edit' reveals additional controls, which users can add to their default controls at the top of the screen for quicker access.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max users gained exclusive Pro controls in iOS 27. These features include upgraded Photographic Styles, which offer new texture and grain controls for refining favorite looks, and the ability to capture, view, and share reference images. These digital negatives enable users to verify the exact image the camera originally captured.
