Inter rally past Udinese to stay level with Roma at Serie A summit

MILAN, Italy - Inter Milan fought back from two goals down to secure a 5-3 victory over Udinese on Monday, maintaining their perfect start to the Serie A season alongside AS Roma. Roma, who won 2-0 against Torino, also enters Saturday's clash at the Stadio Olimpico with 12 points from four matches, sharing the top spot with Inter. Como is third with 10 points after a 2-1 win over Parma.

Udinese took an early lead, with James Abankwah scoring unmarked after just nine minutes, followed by Jurgen Ekkelenkamp's close-range finish seven minutes later. Inter responded through Carlos Augusto, who found the bottom corner with a long-range effort, and Nicolo Barella leveled the score ten minutes before halftime. Marcus Thuram secured the win for Inter in the 59th minute, converting a pass from Andy Diouf.

Francesco Esposito added a fourth goal, and Ange-Yoan Bonny made it 5-2 with 11 minutes left. Udinese managed to pull one back in stoppage time through Idrissa Gueye, but it was ultimately a consolation.

Roma continued their perfect start to the season with a 2-0 win against Torino, thanks to goals from Donyell Malen and Niccolo Pisilli. Malen broke the deadlock with a goal after pouncing on a misplaced pass from goalkeeper Lucas Perri, while Pisilli sealed the victory with a shot in stoppage time. Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini praised the chemistry between Malen and Dybala, noting that they complement each other well and create goals consistently.

He added that the match against Inter is an opportunity for Roma to measure up against the best and improve from their recent performances.

Elsewhere, Como followed up their Champions League debut win against RB Leipzig with a 2-1 home victory over Parma in Serie A. Jacobo Ramon and Kaiki Bruno scored for Como, who now sit third with 10 points after their 2-1 win over Parma.
