IndiGo Flight With 109 On Board Makes Emergency Landing In Lucknow After Smoke Alert

An IndiGo flight carrying 109 passengers and six crew members from Agartala to Delhi made an emergency landing at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow on Tuesday evening. The diversion occurred after a smoke warning alarm sounded in the aircraft's cargo section, triggering an emergency protocol. The pilot informed Lucknow Air Traffic Control and requested permission for an emergency landing due to the situation.

The airport promptly granted the aircraft priority to land, and emergency services prepared to respond upon landing. Security agencies were also alerted as a precautionary measure. The smoke warning prompted the aircraft to land safely at 6:29 pm, and subsequent deboarding and inspection are being conducted to ascertain the cause of the alert.

This incident follows a similar occurrence less than two weeks prior, when an Air India Express flight experienced a smoke alarm and was also diverted to Lucknow for an emergency landing on September 3.
